Every devotional item presented here comes from God's inspiration given to Catholic nuns and monks, who continuously work and pray for all the faithful, especially to those who will use these items.Creating devotional items by the hands of consecrated persons is a continuation of over a thousand years of Catholic Church tradition. Similar to artists during Medieval Times, the nuns and monks do not sign their art, because their intention is to serve God's Glory by catching as many Souls as possible for Heaven. Through these devotional items, the Catholic nuns and monks faithfully deliver Message received from God to those who will have Faith-The Message that is very different than the messages dictated by today's fashion, market, and media.

  • Icons in our Studio are written on seasoned lime wood boards, made by carpenters - proven craftsmen from the Przemyƛl region. The boards are glued with linen cloth using rabbit glue and primed several times with glue and chalk primer. Then the ground surface is sanded by hand several times.
The paint layer is made of natural (loose) pigments, prepared by the sister making the icon based on the egg mixture. Then, after a few weeks, the surface of the icon is protected with a special resin-oil preparation or varnish.
Gilding is usually made of 24-carat gold leaf. If there are technical reasons for it, we use special metal flakes, mainly for gilding frames.
The time to write an icon is from 6 months to 1.5 years depending on the number of orders.
